The CFA1000 |
|
Initially the CFA
(Crimp Force Analyser) became an essential quality tool in the manufacture of safety critical
automotive harnesses such as ABS and airbag systems.
Now, tens of thousands of analysers
are in use globally by major automotive harness manufacturers along with
the white goods, and electronics industries.
We are pleased to offer
the CFA1000 from the UK factory with improved features
and a very competitive price.

What is a Crimp
Force Analyser?
A Crimp Force
Analyser (CFA) is an electronic device that compares the forces involved
throughout a crimping operation with those of a known good (reference)
crimp. In doing so, and by setting tolerance levels, one can instantly
tell if a crimping process is stable and that the terminals being produced
satisfy the necessary quality criteria.
|
|
Why use a crimp force
analyser?
Essentially there are two
main benefits to an organisation when considering such an investment and
the importance of each will depend on a company's individual needs:-
-
Equipment Protection - Stops the
crimping process
in the event of a critical failure. It can be very costly if your crimp tool jams up
- or even worse - breaks.
Particularly on automatic machines, running several thousands of
terminals an hour, it's easy for an operator not to spot a problem
before serious damage is caused. A correctly set analyser will prevent
virtually all breakages caused in this way.
-
Some Other benefits - The
CFA will keep a count of the total number of good and bad terminals
produced in a session. It should be possible at the end of production to
retrieve the correct number of failed terminals, thus ensuring they
don't get shipped as good parts. As a training aid, the CFA will give
guidance to a novice press operator and help them to achieve consistent
results.
|
What can a CFA
detect?
- Missing or bent wire strands
- Incorrect insulation strip
- Strands outside main crimp
- Insulation in main crimp
- Insulation crimp faults
- Crimp misfeeds
- Incorrect wire use
